Terms of sale

These terms apply when you buy a CapMux licence on https://capmux.app. How you may use CapMux itself is set out in the licence agreement; your money-back options are in the refund policy; what we store for your account is in the privacy policy.

Who sells to you

Orders are processed by Creem (https://www.creem.io), our merchant of record and reseller. Creem is the seller of record for your purchase: it takes the payment, issues the receipt and invoice, and calculates, collects and pays the VAT or sales tax that applies where you live. Your bank or card statement shows Creem. Creem's own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment itself; we never see your card details.

CapMux (https://capmux.app) is operated by Stefan Šilić (individual), Novi Sad, Serbia, who makes the app, provides the licence and gives support: support@capmux.app.

What you buy

A licence for CapMux, the desktop app for macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows (x64), with every feature, including export. You buy a licence to use the software, not the software itself (see the licence agreement).

  • Bound to your account. The licence belongs to the CapMux account with the email address you enter at checkout. If there is no account with that address yet, one is made for you; you sign in with that address.
  • Up to 3 computers (Mac or Windows) signed in to the account at the same time. Signing in on a 4th signs out the one that signed in longest ago. To keep accounts from being shared, at most 3 new computers can be added within 30 days; if you need more, write to support@capmux.app.
  • Updates included for as long as the licence runs; a lifetime licence includes all future updates.
  • Try before you buy. CapMux is free to download, and everything except export works without a licence. Free trial licences are available on request at support@capmux.app.

Prices are in US dollars, plus VAT or sales tax where applicable, calculated at checkout from your location. The total at checkout is what you pay. We may change prices for new purchases; a change never affects a period you have already paid for, and for a running subscription you are told by email before a new price applies, so you can cancel first.

Subscriptions

  • A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (1 month, 3 months or 1 year) and is charged to the payment method you used, until you cancel it.
  • Cancel anytime: with the link in your Creem receipt email (Creem's customer portal), or by writing to support@capmux.app. Your licence keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for; nothing more is charged.
  • If a renewal can't be charged, the licence ends at the end of the paid period.
  • Cancelling is not a refund: after the 14 days of the refund policy there are no partial refunds for the rest of a period.

One-time purchases

  • 1 month, 3 months, 1 year: you pay once and nothing renews. The licence ends on the last day of the period. Buying another period while one is running adds it after the current end.
  • Lifetime: you pay once; the licence has no end date and includes all future updates. While online, the app renews the account's licence on each computer by itself; a computer offline for more than 90 days needs to go online once before it can export again.

Delivery and activation

Everything is delivered digitally, right after payment; nothing is shipped.

  1. Download CapMux from https://capmux.app and install it.
  2. In the app, sign in with the email address you used at checkout: Activate CapMux (it opens when you first export) or ⚙ → Account. We email you a 6-digit code; type it in. No password.
  3. The licence activates automatically, and export works. After signing in, the licence is checked offline.

Refunds

Every purchase can be refunded in full within 14 days, no questions asked. The details are in the refund policy. When a purchase is refunded, its licence is deactivated. A licence ended for breaking the acceptable use rules below is not refunded.

Existing licence keys

Licence keys made before (CAPMUX-…, each for one computer) keep working under the terms they were issued with, with or without an account. A valid key can be linked to an account once; the account then has that licence on its other computers too, within the limit of 3 computers.

Your account

Keep your account to yourself: don't share it or its sign-in codes with other people. The licence agreement applies to every computer that uses the licence; if it is materially breached, the licence can be ended as it describes. You can see your plan and computers, remove a computer, sign out and delete the account in the app (⚙ → Account) or at https://capmux.app/account.

Acceptable use

CapMux must not be used to create, caption, edit or distribute:

  • sexually explicit or other NSFW (not safe for work) content;
  • any content involving minors in a sexual context — zero tolerance;
  • non-consensual intimate imagery;
  • hate speech or harassment;
  • violent extremism or terrorism, or content promoting it;
  • illegal content of any kind;
  • content that infringes the rights of others (copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights).

CapMux processes your media locally, on your computer: we don't see, monitor or store what you make, so you are responsible for your content and for having the rights to the media you use. Breaking these rules ends your licence without refund. The full policy: acceptable use.

Warranty, liability and your rights

CapMux comes as described in the licence agreement (sections 8 and 9). Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live that can't be limited by contract.

Governing law

Like the licence agreement, these terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, and the courts in Belgrade have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where a consumer lives. The payment itself is also subject to Creem's terms.

Changes

A purchase is governed by the terms in force when it is made. For a running subscription, changed terms apply from the next renewal after you have been told about them by email.
